Halloween Past {2007}

"Miss Jane" dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. I made this costume, but I don't think I used a pattern. The cape/hood was made from red felt. I trimmed it with a red and white gingham ribbon. The dress was a cotton print (red with white dots). Just about as simple as I could make it. She wore some warm clothing under the costume this year.

Halloweens Past {2008}

(My camera is in sad shape and I can't replace it right now. I do have the ability to take photos with my cell phone, but I don't know how to upload those to the computer.)

Recently I was going through some of my older Halloween photos so I thought I would share them here.

"Miss Jane"-2008: She ended up wearing 2 costumes for various activities in 2008. This cute witch outfit was made by my sister for one of her girls a few years previous.

"Miss Jane"-2008: I adapted this "Birds in a nest" costume from Family Fun magazine. Originally, I made this for one of the older kids, several years ago. The wings and beak were still usable, but I made new "baby birds". I also made a tutu nest and bought a new zip up hoodie. "Baby Jane"-2008: This little sweetie was only 6 months old so she didn't have a costume.
Thanks for looking.

See Jane . . . .Ramble

Although I had wanted to start "this" blog for some time, I had hoped to really get in gear this past summer. Yeah, that didn't happen. Then in early September I came across a reference to challenge to craft something each day of September. (I can't recall what or where, but it did have a cute acronym). That challenge inspired me to start working on some things. Some "crafts" were quick, some took several days. Some projects haven't been finished.

All in all I'm happy to be making some progress. I think I was more creative during this last September than the entire year previous. (Maybe not, but it feels like it).

I've gotten off to a good start in October too if I do say so myself. I've been trying to take photos too so I'll have some illustrations when or if I ever get around to posting about some of the various activities. However, my camera is about to bite the dust and it is really hit and miss as to if I am able to even take photos let along pictures that have major color distortion. I know what I want for Christmas (if I can hold out that long).

See Jane . . . .start blogging

Why?
1. I want to record the fun things we do.
2. Have a place to keep track of fun things I want to try.
3. Have a place to keep up on the latest postings of the creative blogs I have come across.
4. To help me focus and get motivated to try new things.
5. So far away family and friends can keep tabs on "Jane's" latest accomplishments.
6. So I can enter cool contests and the blog owners can find me if I win. (Maybe someday)
7. . . . I'm sure I'll think of it later.
